Interview with Dayanand Shetty(Daya)

Personal Life:
Dayanand Shetty was born in a Tulu speaking Bunt family in Katapadi village of Udupi district of Karnataka State in India. He obtained a B.Com degree from Rizvi College, Bandra. Dayanand married Smitha Shetty; the couple have a daughter, Viva.Early Career:
Dayanand began as a sportsman, but turned to acting after a leg injury. Dayanand was a shotput and discus thrower, which won him many prizes in these sports. Dayanand was the champion of discus throw from State Maharastra in 1994.Television:
Dayanand started working in C.I.D TV series from 1998 as Senior Inspector Daya. Dayanand also played the role of same character in C.I.D. Special Bureau. Dayanand made his guest appearance in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and Kkkusum. Dayanand was invited as a celebrity guest in Deal Ya No Deal. In Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, Dayanand came as Shivaji Satam's friend. He played the role of Harpreet Singh in Gutur Gu. Dayanand was there in Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa as a contestant.

Q1: How were  You selected  for CID ?

Res: I attended CID AUDITIONS in MUMBAI in 1998. There were few rounds which tested the physical ability. B.P.SINGH(Director,Producer of CID) selected me as I have a good physic and chosen me as a Inspector of CID Series. Later Made me as a SENIOR INSPECTOR OF CID.

Q2. Share your experiences 
Res: Working as part of CID Member, i feel it as a great experience. I acted in many small screen actor. But CID is the show where it is the right platform for me to showcase my talent. The popularity I gained is through CID. I thank Sony Entertainment Television for giving me this opportunity.

Q3: Tell about your Future projects
Res: Well, answering this question is lil bit tough to me. After acting as a Senior Inspector in CID, many of the producers and Directors, gave me the chance to act in the films. The first thing i have to mention is Singham Team asked me to act in sequel titled "SINGHAM 2". Many more reality shows offered me chance to be the judge in their shows. But i'm looking forward for the new and interesting projects.

Q4.  Tell about the relationship between You and CID Team:
Res: I can't forget the memories, working with CID team is a good memory of my life. Working with senior most respected person SHIVAJI SATTAM(ACP PRADYUMAN) where i learned so many things in my life from him.Coming to my Friend ADITYA SRIVATSAVA( ABHIJEETH), he is an excellent actor who involves and does justice to any character given by any director/producer. I have a good relationship with entire CID Team, Including show Director/Producer B.P.SINGH. He is a great person who is experienced in all the vertices in the film industry. SHAAPIT was a great success after which he continued with Directing/Producing CID.

Q5. Would you work with KIEMYT ENTERTAINERS if we conduct a reality show or a TV SHOW?
Res: This question is lil embarrassing to me at this moment.As KIEMYT ENTERTAINERS was just a blogging team and not yet entered the film or small screen industry, i'm not sure whether ill be doing projects with Kiemyt Entertainments. It is entering in to the small screen industry in a few months in association with SONY Entertainment, I wish Good luck to KIEMYT ENTERATINERS.
